Fix, Scan and Repair a Bad Sector in an Older Flash Drive

Run the CHKDSK Error Checking tool to fix, scan, and repair any bad sectors found on the flash drive

1. In Computer/My Computer, right-click on the icon for the flash drive (will have a drive letter assigned to it and either say Removable disk or external drive, etc)
2. Select “Properties”
3. Click on the “Tools” Tab
4. Click on “Check Now” in the Error Checking section
5. Make sure both check boxes are selected
6. Click on Start
7. Once the scan has completed click on “Close”
8. Click on “OK” to close the property sheet
